Little is known of this consecrated virgin in Caesarea, Cappadocia, except that she was captured, tortured and executed during Emperor Diocletian's persecution. During her interrogation, a young lawyer mockingly asked her to "send me some fruits from your bridegroom's garden". As she knelt for the blade, an Angel appeared whom she sent to Theophilus with the news that they would soon meet in Heaven. The Angel brought him his requested basket of fruit. Theophilus was executed for his immediate conversion. Meet Dorothea
